Control4 Enables Consumers, Dealers to Manage Home Automation Remotely with 4Sight Internet Services

By making 4Sight available on my.Control4.com, consumers now have the ability to adjust any automated home settings, from the temperature to the lights, while dealers can service their customers without requiring a visit to the home.

Denver, Colorado – September 14, 2006 – Control4, the leader in affordable home automation and entertainment solutions, today announced it will begin offering 4Sight Internet Service, which will be unveiled at the 2006 CEDIA Expo (booth #634). By making 4Sight available on my.Control4.com, consumers now have the ability to adjust any automated home settings, from the temperature to the lights, while dealers can service their customers without requiring a visit to the home.

“The availability of true, affordable remote management of home automation from any location via the Internet ushers in an era most consumers only dreamed about as science fiction of the future,” said Will West, Chief Executive Officer, Control4. “Dealers can now provide service substantially easier to more customers from any remote location, and consumers will finally have an affordable way to monitor and control their homes while they are away. This functionality represents an entirely new dimension for the home automation industry.”

4Sight gives homeowners the ability to monitor their home or adjust key settings, in addition to receiving email notifications about events occurring in the home. For dealers, 4Sight provides a way to program, maintain and upgrade customers’ Control4 installations, with their permission, without having to schedule a service call. Dealers will be able to configure systems from anywhere, allowing for faster reaction times and operational cost savings.

The remote access that 4Sight offers is completely secure, encrypted and requires no configuration of the router or firewall in the home. 4Sight allows homeowners to have complete control of their Control4 system from anywhere via a web browser. By decreasing or eliminating the need for truck rolls, dealers can respond to service requests within minutes or hours, rather than days or weeks. Using the email notification service, homeowners can also add another level of security, with notification of any event in the home. Emails can also be sent notifying parents when a child comes home from school or if the television is turned on allowing an additional level of monitoring of activities in the household.

Control4’s 4Sight Internet Service is available at an introductory price of $99 per year until January 2007. This represents a $50 savings over the normal $149 per year price.
