A "Guard" House Project
At their best, Control4© products adapt to enhance each homeowner's unique lifestyle. The house of Indiana Pacers forward-guard Danny Granger had to adjust for his frequent travel and his love of gaming. Digitech Custom Audio & Video, Inc., a Carmel, Indiana-based electronics installer, made Control4 the center of this lifestyle-enhancing system. A House that Watches Itself As a professional basketball player, Granger is frequently out of town, sometimes for entire weeks. So he needed a system that could keep an eye on things while he was away. Using Control4 technology, Digitech created "away" modes in which blinds would automatically close, lights would be put into a phantom "occupied" mode, security panels would be armed, audio and video zones would be turned off, and HVAC would be turned to a green, energy-saving setting.
Home Automation Technology - Speaking Geek Blog
In the world of automation, we like to say that the purpose of automation is to get all of your devices "talking" to each other. What a novel idea! On the surface that's exactly what happens. However, the technology that allows this magic to happen is obviously a bit more in depth than that. Interior Designers and Home Builders Increasingly Rely on Technology Integrators Blog
This guest post comes to us from Harry Saini of Digital Smart Homes, The Lifestyle Technology Store. The worlds of interior design and home building have entered an entirely new era in 2013. Not too long ago, technology integrators would have to seek out partnerships with interior designers and builders to drum up additional business. This trend has shifted, as home automation becomes more desirable to families rather than an expensive luxury. Interior designers and builders are increasingly turning to professional smart home integrators to help them design and build smart home technology solutions for their customers.
Treasure of the Sierra Madre: "El Chepe" the Smart Train Blog
A National Treasure Past tumbling waterfalls and towering canyons tinted with mineral deposits. Through forests, deserts, valleys and tunnels, and across breathtaking bridges... The Chihuahua al Pacifico (“El Chepe” for short), Mexico’s Copper Canyon rail-road, is among the world’s most spectacular train journeys. One of only two passenger routes in the country, this 650 km (~404 mile) “ride in the sky” takes 13 hours to wind its way northeastward along the Sierra Tarahumara (part of the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range). The journey runs from Los Mochis on the northwest coast to Chihuahua in central northern Mexico, rising from sea level to almost 2,500 meters (~8,000 feet) at its highest point.
